Shell Contractor
SHELL CONTRACTOR SERVICES
A building shell is the structure you can see going up before interiors start — slab, CMU (concrete masonry) walls, and the related structural work that makes a new house, addition, or CBS building stand. Blakenstone Construction is a licensed Florida Building Contractor (CBC1268642). We build that shell for homeowners and property owners across Palm Beach, Martin, and St. Lucie counties.
This is not a driveway pour and it is not a finished interior. Shell work is the structural package: what the rest of the job is built on and enclosed by.
We work in Stuart, Hobe Sound, Jensen Beach, Palm City, Port St. Lucie, Fort Pierce, Jupiter, West Palm Beach, and surrounding Treasure Coast and Palm Beach County cities.

CMU AND CBS BLOCK WORK
CMU is the block; CBS is the house — masonry walls on a slab, which is how a lot of Treasure Coast and Palm Beach County homes are built. On a new shell we lay that block from the plans: first course on the slab, door and window openings, lintels, and the filled cells, rebar, and bond beam the drawings and inspector expect, with walls plumb and openings where the units actually go. If you need a new slab under it, we’ve got you covered. Bring plans if you have them; if not, we still need footprint, wall height, and openings before anyone stacks block. This is licensed Florida Building Contractor work (CBC1268642), not a weekend masonry side job.

ADDITIONS
An addition uses the same CMU, but it is a shell tied to a house that is already there — cutting into existing walls, matching floor height and block, and meeting the old slab, CBS, and roof line so it does not look bolted on. Some houses can take a new wing on the existing slab; some need new foundation; some need an engineer before a bearing wall is opened. We look at that on site. You get the structural box: slab where it is needed, CMU walls, openings, and a clean tie-in — not cabinets, drywall, or a finished kitchen.
